Cabo Pulmo a 24 de Enero de 2003. Hola !!! I hope you are having a great month !!, the Scuba Diving Activity it has been very good , water temperature it still in the upper 70’s and the visibility it’s about 35 feet , yesterday we had the strongest wind blow out the sea of cortez in the season yet, but we’re still diving off Los Frailes, Thierry and Marine are having fun teaching new divers and of course when there is a lot of wind they’re just take a day off to the Sierra de la Laguna National Park, they take their students to the hot springs for a day off, and they comeback for the next day to continue their diving course, there is a lot action on the reefs, we are seen more whales swimming and the manta rays flying off the ocean all day and night, they don’t seem to care much about the wind. This Season Marine and Thierry are going to continue managing the Pepe’s Dive Center , you know they’re Padi Open Water Dive Instructors, and they’re also Emergency First Respond and Nitrox and Rebreathers Instructors, this year I have manage to get Nitrox and Rebreathers in to the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park And I will like to tell you that Pepe’s Dive Center is now a Padi Resort Member , we are currenly working with two boats from our company, but we are also going to use the local fisherman boats , as part as our conservation program, we are building an Environmental Education Center, so we can have a display from all the work and current and futures projects for the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park.all the information and Dive Courses will be in three languages , French, English and Spanish. Pepe’s Dive Center Report : Surface Water Temperature : 72 Degrees Bottom Temperature : 70 Degrees Thermocline : at 40 feet Underwater Visibility : 35 Feet Sea of Conditions : Windy in Cabo Pulmo but nice and calm at Los Frailes, strongh current from the north. High Lights : Humpback Whales, Manta Rays. Pepe’s Foundation Report : I assisted to a environmental meeting at Los Barriles , and I get to meet with Mr. Richard Kiy whom he is the President for the International Community Foundation, and they are funding a few projects in the Baja for the conservation, him and Anne Mcenany are working together for the future environment for the Baja California Pennisula, so we talk about the Cabo Pulmo Marine Park , and it’s needs such as a full time Park Ranger and an Environmental Education Program for kids and adults , so they are going to work on this needs so perhaps in the near future we can put it together. If you like to get involved or be a part it please contact us at this address : cabopulmo_parque@yahoo.com.mx Until next time….. Your Dive Buddy Pepe Murrieta
